2026 Värmdö Skärgårdsmässa (Archipelago Fair)
Grumpy weather gods and challenging distances (that latter perhaps mostly for myself) didn’t stop visitors nor exhibitors from having a great time at the combined fairs of Allt på sjön and Värmdö skärgårdsmässa in Gustavsberg outside Stockholm this last weekend of August.
I ventured north to make a repeat performance of the boat show in Karlshamn a couple of weeks ago, and while the weather tried its best to discourage everyone particularly on the Saturday, we all persevered.
Again, given the context of a boat and archipelago fair, I focused on displaying my images with a nautical theme. I cannot begin to express the gratitude of all the fantastic comments I received from the people that stopped by. That stuff really makes me motivated to continue creating my images, and nurturing my love for the archipelago and boating. One visitor went so far as to say my images were the highlight of the whole show! Another asked if I’ve exhibited at Fotografiska. Any day now, I’m sure.. And even a damsel fly found my lighthouse panoramas particularly worthy of lengthy observation, so there is clearly something for all walks of life there.
A particularly special thanks to those who found my material worthy of hanging on their walls - this is a deep honour for me, and really puts a thick layer of icing on the cake.
