In the deep, dark forests of Småland in southern Sweden, there is a final resting place for old cars. A scrap heap of twisted metal to many, but each car keeps a secret history. Rolling off the assembly line, with a shining new paint job and polished chrome, each one was delivered to its first owner, full of anticipation. Some of them were family cars, others status symbols. Many passed through several owners, perhaps using them as utility cars, and for others it was their first car - old, beat up but above all cheap. The memories that were created in them stay within the silent forest, twisted body work and decaying interiors. One day, nature will have reclaimed it all, and all those memories will be lost forever.
The images below are exclusively shot on film, because.. well, come on, is there a more fitting subject matter for the analogue photographer? Several different film stocks and different formats have been used, with their own little "personalities".
