When you are moored to a cliff, as is common in the Swedish archipelago, you sometimes have the benefit of amazing sunsets. Other times, the wind comes from the west in the evening, and since you always seek to moor with your bow against a windward cliff, you instead have to settle for the colours on display to the east, as the earth casts its shadow on the sky and lingering rays of sun light up some clouds. This is what happened this evening - the sun had just set, I was half running around securing the boat’s mooring lines, half enjoying the show. And half trying to compose a photograph at the same time.. I think I might have had some success in this case, because this image stops people in their tracks as they walk past my displays. I have had calmer evenings in the cockpit of my boat, but every once in a while it is worth sacrificing that calm to instead try to capture that emotion.
